In class today we tried to sing a song together.

I am sitting in the morning at the diner on the corner. I am waiting at the counter for the man to pour the coffee. And he fills it only halfway, and before I even argue, he is looking out the window at somebody coming in. ‘It is always nice to see you,’ says the man behind the counter to the woman who has come in. She is shaking her umbrella. And I look the other way, as they are kissing their hellos, I’m pretending not to see them and instead I pour the milk.

Some students might feel the lessons are far too easy, but, like I said many times in class, we use the exercises to review what we already learned before. Through using the easy sentence structures, we can become familiar with spoken English, and gradually feel more natural when using this foreign language.

也許有些會話班的同學覺得課程太簡單了，但其實我們主要希望透過使用已經很熟悉的句型結構，來加強英語會話能力，增加開口練習的機會，且目標定在讓大家能夠習慣英語語調且提高使用英語時的自信。例如：本週課程複習了 when, before, after 複習它們在句中的位置以及表達的意義。大家也許覺得早就學過了，可是我倒覺得像這樣的複習，把它想深一點，其實是在促使大家練習以英文來思考所說內容的前後順序與邏輯。這樣可能也說得太深了一點。但，能夠用英文思考的話，說英文也可以快一些。這其實是開始邁向中級英文的一個基礎加強過程。

其實會話課堂真的就是大家練習使用英語對話的環境，希望大家不會感到有壓力，準備好了，就開口多講吧！I am sure you have a lot of interesting things to say!
